John 3:16. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1Corinthians. 1:28-30 God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
Revelation. 4:8 Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!"

I am pleased to announce that we are starting to offer sublingual immunotherapy in our practice.
Sublingual immunotherapy is another way of desensitizing people to their allergens (Making them immune to the things they are allergic to). The common standard immunotherapy in the form of subcutaneous injections (Allergy shots) will continue to be available, but since there are patients who have a phobia of needles and can’t come to an office because of distance or travel a lot, we are introducing the sublingual therapy.
This therapy has been approved for use in Europe for many years with success but has not been approved in US yet. Health insurance companies do not pay for the vials but they usually cover the other services. Patients are expected to pay for the vials.
We are using the same extracts that we use under skin for sublingual therapy. This therapy is taken at home. The side effects are usually very mild. Patients may get local irritation in the mouth, or swelling of the tongue but No fatality reported. Patients will need to have an Epipen with them in case symptoms get worse.
I like to think outside the box to help my patients. Trying to find the causes of their problems, from both allergy and immunology background, is very important.
It is great to use the conventional ways of therapy but it is also important to use outside the box therapy to help those who might need it.
I believe going the extra mile to find the causes of the problems and to find innovative therapy is important in helping my patients.
If you have any questions about the sublingual immunotherapy, please do not hesitate to call.
